Let me see... what would I do If I could edit the stuff... just a few little subtle slight changes, not too many... something easy... hm... let's see:

- Inscriptions worldwide.
- Require customization to equip weapons and offhands.
- Better customization for caster weapons and cutomization effects for offhand items.
- Change color name of crafted weapons to Dark Blue.
- Change color name of collector weapons to Brown.
- Non-identified items will have a tiny icon in the corner denoting they are not identified.
- "Identify all" option by talking to Xunlai Agents. They take 6 gold per item.
- "Next quest" option in Xunlai agent, by paying 10g, they tell you the next quest you have available to make in the current campaign.
- "Guide" option in Xunlai Agent, by paying 50g, they activate mission map icons for outposts, they can be hidden then with a little button in the mission map title bar.
- Ability to see the 'full map' (like in dungeons) for all maps, not only underground ones.
- Make the "Return to last outpost" button in Guild Hall say the name of the last outpost. I.E.: "Return to Lion's Arch"
- Add an option to make Ctrl and Alt buttons toggleable so you can hit them once and then they keep their effects even if you don't press them.
- Fix Ctrl and Alt behavior to hide the opposite names, so items and allies are never show when you only hit Ctrl and enemies are never show when you only hit alt.
- Allow to map any key at will.
- Change the Tab key behavior to cycle to the same type of target: Click enemy, tab cycles enmies, click item, tab cycles items, click interactive object, tab cycles interactive objetc, click party member, tab cycles party members, click minion, tab cycles through minions.
- Ability to make parties of up to 8 characters in any outpost in hard mode.
- Fix colors of effects in PvE to denote parties (wards and wells)
- Rename all items so each name is used in only one skin and each skin has only one name.
- Complete all sets, so if a set is not complete, all items of the set are added (All draconic weapons, all voltaic weapons, all chaos weapons, etc)
- Add skills, weapons drops and armor sets of new professions to oldcampaings, so each profession has the very same number of skills, weapons and armor.
- If a non-tutorial quest would give a skill as a reward, if the character already has the skill, give a tome of that profession instead.
- Armor unlocking as alternative to storing.
- Miniature unlocking as alternative to storing.
- Account-wide Devotion and Valor monuments.
- Manual statue sorting.
- Remaining realms of the gods.
- Prophecies PvE skills. They will be "No attribute" skills and will not be linked to a title.
- Prophecies challenges.
- Prophecies credits area.
- Add Sorrow's Furnace reward chest.
- Add Primeval Tombs reward chest.
- Make the Prophecies Missions require the Primary quests in order to start.
- Prophecies and Factions Missions start by talking to an NPC like in preSearing, Nightfall and EotN.
- More quests in Prophecies, specially in areas that are not usually visited.
- Make every single Mission have an Explorable area counterpart that can be entered anytime after finishing the Mission.
- Xunlai Marketplace.
- Show the Guild cape as standards and banners in the Guild Hall and Halls of Monuments.
- Weapon upgrade traders.
- Access to other character's inventories from the storage.
- Add 7 new heroes. They would be given in quests for those that have different combinations of campaigns:
_* P+F: mesmer
_* P+N: warrior
_* P+E: elementalist
_* F+N: ritualist
_* F+E: assassin
_* N+E: dervish
_* P+F+N: paragon
- Change the name of heroes when you go thorugh certain plot points: Mastr of Whispers -> Jora
That would make 4 heroes for the primary professions that have 5 attributes and 3 for the primary professions that have 4.
- Ability to chose login and character selection screens.
- Better quest log with
_* Current quests tab.
_* Completed quests tab.
_* Known quests tab (all quests starter by any character of the account).
_* Replay cinematics panel.
_* Library panel (Where you can read all completed books again)
- Ability to re-take any quest, but without rewards. If the character makes all quests, the rewards are activated again once. That is, you only take rewards from quests when the set is complete: no one has been made or all have been made.
- Replace all item rewards in Prophecies with Reward tokens. The item rewards would be moved to collectors, so people can choose between the items we already could have or the typical rewards acquired with reward tokens.
- Adventurer Title (making all quests)
- All grind titles become account wide.
- Allegiance title gets its onw title effect, the Alliegance blessings are renamed to bounties and no longer have the +HP and +egen effects. Those effects are moved to the title effect.
- Add a Sunspear title effect, which works better the more human party members are.
- Change the Allegiance title from 12 to 10 ranks.
- Change the lightbringer title from 8 to 10 ranks.
- Add 7 more lightbringer skills, for a total of 10.
- Add books for Sunspear, Lightbringer and Allegiance ranks.
- All bounties work like EotN bounties, but giving the rank up automatically at 50, 100 and 150 of the kills instead of talking to NPCs.
- Decrease duration of EotN consumables to 10 minutes.
- Add faction/promotion/reputation insight scrolls.
- Allow to acquire any miniature via Reward Chest (although with really LOW drop rates)
- Animal companion unlock and selection in PvP.
- Collars for animal companions that fit a rune and an insignia. The rune change the type of damage dealt by the animal: Slashing or piercing. The insignia change the evolution: Dire/Hearty/Elder. The collar has no extra armor or anything like that.
- Allow PvE characters to create PvP items. Such items will banish when they leave PvP areas, though.
- Secondary sort button to skill panl to be able to sort them out better.
- Effects for party, sweet and drunk titles: Slight increase in duration in the effects of the consumables they count.
- Make the miniatures try to copy the emotes their owners make (if the model of the miniature can do them)
- Mini-me miniature.
- Make weapon hits have differnt animations depending on damage type.
- Make critical hits have different color in damage numbers.

Easier said that done, eh? I think that should do for now... I'll put more funny things when I remember them.

some sort of pseudo-Z-axis (it was kludged into Freelancer through mods, so it can be done)

auction house

a useful ignore list

fix /report so people can't just hop districts to avoid being reported

allow 7 hero parties

Add a meaningful combo system to all classes where successful combos would have special effects

Make chests actually drop useful loot, but be rarer and randomly spawned

Change weapon damage ranges so that you actually have a sliding scale of usefulness

Add equippable armor upgrades besides just runes/insignias as drops

monsters would have more skills in HM rather than just having more HP

Fix EotN to actually be challenging instead of time-wastingly cheesy

Make storage actually store things rather than function as a temporary holding bay for stuff you're just about to use

Add code to load a virus automatically on any user's computer who whines about Ursan, lootscale, begs for money, asks for a powerlevel.... (okay, that might not be feasible... or legal)

Quote:
The code for features has to be released under the GPL
In that case, the code for GW would also have to be GPL'ed. Of course, ANET could still continue to host their own copy of the game and restrict which modifications are allowed in their branch of the code.

Open Source is actually good to the point that you like the GW wiki you have a bigger group of people then say the GW devs who could give their input on where GW should go. While I do like that in the fact that some smart modders could come out with a good version of GW PvE for all the PvErs and GW PvP... etc. I generally tend to disagree that open source is good for online games, especially ones like GW.

On another note this is just a thread for people to QQ more about what they don't like about GW, or how they can't farm 100k per day anymore... etc.

-Make an offline mode

-Implement profession specific armor sets that can only be found as drops

-Add a questline spanning the whole Guild Wars universe to craft a kickass sword

Just some of the few.

I'd also like to make it so that party sizes are smaller. Ever since KotOR I've been a fan of smaller parties as opposed to ginormous ones.

Personally, I'd like to see the framework marketed something like GarageGames' Torque, Prairie Gammes (Minions of Mirth) TMMOKIT, Unity3D, Realmcraft, NeoAxis, etc... and indie-geared, upgradable to commercial game kit without assets, or with asset packs for sale (in the indie price-range) with a comparable license (as an alternative to open sourcing it). Having said that, I know somewhere ANet mentioned they would never license the engine or technology to any entity other than NCSoft companies.

I totally agree. I dislike large parties... just loses that RPG feel totally.

I am the same as you all I would like to see sometime is a single/multi player version of it.

I would like to see every PvE nerf removed from all types of farming and running.I would also like to see the opportunity to give presearing to go thier guild hall and postsearing chars. the opportunity to go back to pre. This is if the community wanted to do this.

I can't be bothered to do anything with it. I have no interest in this matter. I'd probably let someone else do the work instead. If it's good I might check it out.

... pretty much, yeah. Wouldn't quite be so bad though; the best that could come from open-source is for the community to fracture into a bunch of different servers with their own rules. The worst is it'd open the gateway to cheaters, spammers and other miscreants.

Once GW2 comes out, the people who want to play it (probably more than this forum makes it seem, I'd guess; it is fairly loaded with gripers) would move on and pretty much abandon GW. That'd leave the people who hate GW2 or can't run it behind, until they get bored of GW and then leave - which would happen faster with a smaller userbase. But it'd still last upward of a year in a meaningful form.

It'd make sense to open-source GW if running the servers was no longer viable - unless the GW source contains trade secrets that would undermine GW2, which is quite possible as, from what I hear, GW2 is being developed from the GW1 engine.
